Each tower has double spiral staircases where visitors can ascend and admire the lake from one of the viewing platforms. One of the top landmarks of Taiwan is also nearby. The University was established in 1963 when the Taiwanese Government assigned funds to establish a learning facility in the city. In autumn of the same year, graduates were admitted into the University to study Civil and Chemical Engineering. In the early 1990s, the facility expanded its programme of Engineering studies to incorporate Business, International Trade, and Tourism and a second campus was constructed. In the year 2000, the campus was renamed National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, and it has since expanded even further, adding more programmes to its curriculum.
