Dream Mall is an iconic international shopping centre situated in the Qianzhen District of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Dream Mall is located in the Kaohsiung Multifunctional Commerce and Trade Park, next to Chenggong Rd and Zhonghua Rd. It is the largest mall in East Asia at nine stories tall and encompassing 400,000 square metres.
Attractions at Dream Mall include the famous rooftop amusement park where the popular Kaohsiung Eye Ferris wheel is located. The mall interior boasts a front Blue Whale Hall area and more than 600 retail shops including five major department stores. There is a cinema complex, gym, concentration of restaurants, children’s entertainment centre and boutiques bearing unique maritime themes.
Public transportation to the area is serviced by the Kaohsiung MRT routing out of Kaisyuan Station, located within walking distance of the mall. The Kaohsiung City Bus provides transit to the nearest Hankyu Department Store stop. Additionally, two levels of underground parking provide for thousands of parking spaces for personal vehicles.
The RTKL organisation executed the architectural design for the complex including the rear granite cornerstone building meant to symbolise eternity. The blueprint was implemented into construction by Tungcheng Development Corporation. Dream Mall was opened to the public on May 12, 2007.
