Things to do in Cianjhen District
Buckle into an electric kart and fly around a world-class track at Suzuka Circuit Park. The venue has hosted a variety of prestigious events over the years, including F1 Grand Prix races. The motorcycle rollercoaster will get your pulse racing while the bumper cars will appeal to younger kids. The water park is open in the summer and features pools, slides and sunbathing areas.
Kaohsiung Eye Ferris Wheel treats you to some of the best views in the city. It’s located on the rooftop of Dream Mall and features enclosed, air-conditioned glass cabins. At night, the Ferris wheel is lit up with rainbow-coloured lights.
Kaisyuan Night Market will tantalise your palate with local specialties like “gau bao” pork belly buns, crispy spring onion pancakes and oyster omelettes. Save room for desserts like creamy tofu pudding and “tang yuan” rice balls. There’s also a flea market where you can pick up souvenirs and second-hand treasures.
Relax and escape the crowds in Singuang Riverside Park. The grassy waterfront is the perfect place to enjoy a picnic, read a book or take part in a public yoga class. From the grass, you’ll get fantastic views of 85 Sky Tower, one of the tallest and most impressive skyscrapers in the city.
Getting around Cianjhen District
Cianjhen District is easy to get around on foot or using public transport and it’s a five-minute drive from the Kaohsiung City Centre. There are several Kaohsiung MRT stations located in Cianjhen District, including Kaisyuan Station on the Red Line. Kaohsiung International Airport is a 15-minute drive away.
