Things to do in Banqiao District
Discover the country’s best example of Chinese garden architecture at the Lin Family Mansion and Garden. This family-built residence is comprised of ornamental ponds, bridges and pavilions, along with ancient flora and buildings. Crescent Bridge provides a look at Banqiao’s more modern architecture, while also offering photogenic sunset views.
There are two popular night markets around Banqiao District where you can soak up local customs.Here you can shop for local delicacies, such as traditional rice cakes, shaved ice and oyster omelettes. Lehua Night Market began in the 1970s and still offers some of Taiwan’s best street-side dining and shopping, from snack stalls to electronics, while Nanya Night Market has a great range of Taiwanese cuisine and cheap souvenirs.
Are you an artist at heart? Venture into the Banqiao 435 Art Zone, one of the happiest places in Taiwan. This creative community boasts the European-designed Zhongzheng Memorial Hall, several art exhibitions, street art, sculptures and a museum of vintage toys. Located nearby, the Banqiao Agricultural Park includes an evergreen garden, plant education area and a farm village.

Getting around Banqiao District
Banqiao District has an MRT line that seamlessly connects it to the rest of Taipei City. New roads and bridges make driving around the district easy, while the centre is within walking distance of Banqiao Station. Buses also connect Banqiao with Downtown Taipei, while bullet trains frequent Banqiao Station.
