Tampines stretches out to the edge of Singapore Strait, taking advantage of its waterfront location with three scenic golf courses. Within Tampines, you’ll find a cosmopolitan regional centre with shopping malls and international restaurants, along with leafy parklands and nearby theme parks.
Things to do in Tampines
Enjoy a day out on the greens at one of Tampines’ three golf courses, including the Laguna National, considered one of the world’s best with its Masters Course and state-of-the-art practice facilities. Tee off by the water at National Service Resort & Country Club, which boasts an 18-hole championship course, as well as a fitness centre, water sports and children’s playground.
Love to shop? Head straight to the Tampines Regional Centre, home to three shopping malls, including the six-storey Century Square, which has a cinema, food court and over 200 retail outlets. Tampines Mall is great for picking up affordable fashion and toys at such stores as H&M and Toys ‘R’ Us, while Tampines 1 is a shopping and entertainment mecca with a wildlife-themed rooftop water playground, swimming pool, international fashion labels and loft-style restaurants.
If you need a rest, venture over to Tampines Eco Green, a 36-hectare expanse of lush grasslands, wetlands and rainforest perfect for birdwatching. It’s close to Sun Plaza Park, which has an amphitheatre, interactive children's play stations, a beach volleyball court and the immersive Fantasy Land Playground.
Speaking of play, get your fill of fun at Wild Wild Wet, a water park with thrilling slides and a lazy river about eight kilometres from Tampines. If you prefer culture, drive 15 minutes to The Changi Museum, home to paintings, photographs and personal belongings from World War II Prisoners of War.
Getting around Tampines
Tampines is a 10-minute drive from Changi Airport Singapore and is serviced by multiple MRT stations and bus interchanges. You can also drive a personal vehicle or catch taxis to get around.
