Kallang is home to some of Singapore’s most-recognizable landmarks, including the Tanjong Rhu Suspension Bridge and Singapore National Stadium. One of the city’s sportiest districts, there are plenty of opportunities to swim, cycle, rock climb and cheer on local teams.

Bes sure to check out the world-class facilities at Singapore Sports Hub. Watch the Singapore football and cricket teams play at National Stadium, go rock climbing at the Community Sports Centre or take the kids swimming at Splash-N-Surf. In addition to its sports venues, the Indoor Stadium has also hosted numerous concerts, while Kallang Wave Mall has a range of cafes and restaurants.
Water sports enthusiasts will love Kallang Riverside Park, where you can paddle out in a canoe or kayak, try water-skiing or fish in dedicated zones. At weekends, sit in a riverfront cafe and cheer on the teams of dragon boat racers honing their skills.
Looking for evening entertainment? The Singapore Chinese Opera Museum has exhibits on different opera traditions and stages shows of classic opera complete with elaborate costumes and makeup. Afterwards, check out the bar area around Jalan Besar and sample some of the craft beers at The 1925 Brewing Company.
Getting around Kallang
Kallang is relatively easy to drive around compared to central Singapore, while the roads along the waterfront and west of Lavender Street are pedestrian-friendly. The area is easy to reach on the metro, which includes numerous stops.
