Nestled on the Kranji Reservoir, Lim Chu Kang is a naturally resplendent district with multiple wetland reserves and reservoir parkland. You can also find many horticulture and animal-based shops, fishing experiences and local farms.
Things to do in Lim Chu Kang
Experience Singapore’s rural side at some of Lim Chu Kang’s farms, including the interactive Jurong Frog Farm, where you can hold the frogs, see the farming process and learn about frog-based recipes. Viknesh Dairy Farm is just down the road and is home to cows that can be seen on a guided tour, which also showcases the dairy process.
Immerse yourself in Singapore’s verdant wetlands at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, where you can see migratory birds and the occasional saltwater crocodile. Stroll along the walking trails to reach the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve Visitor Centre, which has educational guides and displays showcasing the area’s biodiversity. The nearby Kranji Reservoir Park is ideal for chilling out with views of Kranji Reservoir and Malaysia.
Feel like getting active? Head to the NSRCC Kranji Sanctuary Golf Course and tee off on the 18-hole championship course that features ponds, marshland and challenging bunkers. The on-site NSRCC Terrace Cafe serves delicious Asian dishes and light refreshments in a tranquil garden setting.
If you’re craving some retail therapy, drive 20 minutes to the nearby Causeway Point Shopping Centre, which has about 250 shopping and dining outlets, from Cotton On and The Body Shop to Toast Box and Mos Burger. Another worthwhile trip is the 20-minute drive south to the Army Museum of Singapore, which features old army vehicles and interactive war exhibits, including a virtual shooting range.
Getting around Lim Chu Kang
Lim Chu Kang is connected to the rest of Singapore via a range of public bus routes and the Kranji MRT Station. You can also catch buses around the neighbourhood, but it’s easier to drive your own vehicle or ride in taxis.
