Coogee Beach lures sunseekers in with its golden sand, turquoise water and a handful of crystalline saltwater ocean pools. The beach is patrolled by local surf life-saving clubs, making it a favourite with families and tourists. Enjoy a picnic on the grassy foreshore, fire up the barbecue or set up a game of cricket.
Cool off in the Pacific Ocean or swim in the saltwater ocean pools. McIver's Ladies Baths has a women-only policy, while Wylie's Baths welcome all swimmers. Wylie's complex features an oceanside massage parlour, yoga studio and cafe with stunning ocean views. You can also swim in Giles Baths, a natural rock pool at the northern end of the beach.
Gentle waves make Coogee Beach a great place to learn to surf. Stroll along the waterfront promenade to admire the Heritage-listed architecture. Just offshore is picturesque Wedding Cake Island. You can also walk the coastal trail linking Coogee to Bondi Beach in around one hour.
