Ulladulla’s most captivating highlights are found outside, as it is home to alluring surf breaks, a charismatic shopping strip and numerous nature walks.
Things to do in Ulladulla
If you’re visiting during summer, Ulladulla’s beaches will welcome you with refreshing temperatures, soft sand and serene native surrounds. Head to Dolphin Point Beach for surfing and whale watching, Lobster Jack’s Beach for private swimming or Ulladulla Harbour North Beach for fishing and letting your dog run wild.
If you’re interested in local culture, stroll along the Coomee Nulunga Cultural Trail with members of the local Indigenous community to learn about their customs and history. Afterwards, pay a visit to Giriwa Garuwanga Art Gallery to see paintings, sculptures and other artwork by local Aboriginals. You’ll find contemporary canvas works, as well as boomerangs and clapsticks.
Visiting Ulladulla with the kids? Take the gang to Funland Ulladulla, where you can find hours of entertainment playing arcade games, slipping down slides and riding dodgem cars. Have a go at ten-pin bowling at Dunn Lewis Centre or cool off at Ulladulla Leisure Centre, home to an indoor heated pool, toddler paddling pool, hydrotherapy pool, spa and Olympic pool.
If you’ve got a car, make the 20-minute drive out to Meroo National Park, where tidal rock pools house crabs and starfish and wildlife viewing can reveal a glimpse of wallabies, kangaroos and a variety of native birds. Back in town, be sure to visit Warden Head Light, a 19th-century lighthouse overlooking the Tasman Sea.
Getting around Ulladulla
It’s possible to walk around Ulladulla’s compact streets, while taxis are available if you need to travel further afield. There’s also a local bus service that operates two routes linking Ulladulla to nearby towns. If you’re coming from Sydney, catch the train to Bomaderry before hopping on a bus to Ulladulla.
