Fringed by sandy beaches, shimmering lakes and coastal lagoons, The Entrance has been luring sunseekers since the late-1800s. It remains one of the Central Coast's most popular outdoor playgrounds, with holidaymakers enjoying swimming, surfing and local boutiques.
Things to do in The Entrance
The Entrance is anchored by a picturesque town centre where you'll find a string of cafes, craft stores and clothing boutiques. If you're in town on a Saturday, don't miss the Entrance Market, which showcases fresh produce from across the Central Coast.
With its sheltered bay, playground and grassy picnic area, The Entrance Beach is a firm favourite for nature lovers. It's patrolled during the summer and flanked by cafes, restaurants and a lively weekend market. If you'd rather not swim in the Pacific Ocean, take a dip in the Ocean Baths, the only ocean pool on the Central Coast.
Every afternoon, holidaymakers flock to Memorial Park to see the daily pelican feeding, a tradition started over 20 years ago by a local fish and chip shop. It became so popular that the local government eventually built a feeding platform called Pelican Plaza.
Spanning along the Pacific Ocean, The Entrance Heritage Walk showcases a mix of coastal scenery and local history. Along the two-hour interactive walk, you'll find a series of plaques offering information highlighting the area’s historic landmarks.
Getting around The Entrance
The Entrance town centre is easy to navigate on foot, with many attractions reached in minutes. If you want to explore the greater Central Coast region, it's best to hire a car.
