Located in the north of Jeddah, close to King Abdulaziz International Airport, Red Sea Mall is one of the largest shopping malls in Saudi Arabia. A fabulous water fountain welcomes visitors, leading them into three floors of shops and restaurants. The ceiling is a huge glass dome, providing natural light throughout the day and creating a sense of space for those browsing the stores.
There's a supermarket on the ground floor, along with large retail stores from major brands. The second floor has smaller shops while the top floor is where the majority of the boutiques are situated. Restaurants are dotted around the mall, and there's a central dining area that features many of the world's most recognisable fast-food names. From the top floors, it's possible to look out onto the Red Sea and the turquoise body of water that gives the mall its name.
The Red Sea Mall is situated between King Abdulaziz Road and Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Road. It's less than a five-minute walk from the coast and only five minutes from the airport by taxi. Public buses travel along King Abdul Aziz Road and drop passengers outside the mall.
When it opened in 2008, the mall had the world's largest indoor fountain. Although it's been superseded, the fountain remains a very impressive piece of art, illuminated by a continual water and light show.
