Located in the north of Jeddah, Al Nahdah is a lively district dominated by residential housing, community parks and local eateries. It’s located within easy access to large-scale shopping malls, family-friendly amusement parks and all the attractions of the New Jeddah Corniche.
Things to do in Al Nahdah
On the northwestern edge of Al Nahdah is the Red Sea Mall, where you’ll find both local and international retail stores. Browse the fashions at Ted Baker and Levi’s, shop for jewellery at Baby Fitaihi and Emad Rizq or pick up sporting goods at the Nike Store. When it’s time to eat, you can feast at Century Burger, dine on Egyptian fare at Dawwar Mesqi or enjoy seafood dishes at the Shrimp Zone.
Travelling with kids? Visit Atallah Happy Land Park, which is packed with rides and games that will appeal to all ages. You can challenge yourself on the Surfrider, experience the 6D cinema or enjoy a skate on the ice rink. Atallah Happy Land Park is also home to a climbing wall, a state-of-the-art gaming arcade and a musical fountain.
Al Nahdah is a convenient base for exploring the New Jeddah Corniche, which hugs the Red Sea for around 30 kilometres. It’s home to sandy beaches, recreational parks and plenty of restaurants and cafes, plus the famous King Fahad’s Fountain. Built on stilts just offshore is the beautiful Al-Rahmah Mosque, which seemingly appears to float on the water’s surface at high tide.
Getting around Al Nahdah
Al Nahdah is around 20 minutes’ drive from the centre of Jeddah and 15 minutes from King Abdulaziz International Airport, which has flights to destinations across the globe. Buses connect to Al Nahdah, although taxis are the main means of getting around the area.
