Sprawling around the Dahan River, Yingge District lies in the south-east of Taoyuan City and is renowned for its production of porcelain. Around 200 years ago, a potter named Wu An migrated to the area from Guangzhou in China and, together with a local brickmaker, established what would become Taiwan’s largest ceramics industry.
