Things to do in Bade District

Designed like a giant piece of chocolate, the Republic of Chocolate is Asia’s first museum dedicated to the history and creation of this sweet treat. Join a guided tour to learn how chocolate is produced throughout the world, make your own in one of their hands-on classes and sample an array of chocolate fusion cuisine at the on-site restaurant.

Bade Pond Eco Park sprawls across the eastern edge of Bade City and is set around a picturesque lake. It’s a great place to escape the bustle of the urban surrounds, with a number of forest walks to explore and a pavilion overlooking the water.

Bade City also makes a good base for visiting one of Taiwan’s most famous cultural destinations, Daxi Old Street, situated a short drive south. Once serving as the main hub for the trade of tea and camphor in the country, it’s now lined with Baroque-style shop facades.

Travelling with kids? Then don't miss a visit to the Window on China Theme Park and its “mini-worlds” where you can see famous landmarks in miniature replicas. There’s also a range of amusement rides and a water park to cool off during the hot summer months, together with daily shows at the Taiwanese Folk Art Theater.
