Trendy boutiques, international eateries and lively bars string along the beach, while the nearby Tramuntana mountain range offers hiking and cycling.
Things to do in Santa Ponsa
Most travellers head straight for the main beach at Platja de Santa Ponça, which is packed with pubs and cafes along its bustling promenade. For some nature-filled time away from the crowds, head to Little Beach, a picturesque cove near the marina. Inland you’ll find La Reserva Puig de Galatzó, a forested nature park home to eagles and native wildlife.
Some of the best views of Santa Ponsa are at Cruz del Descubrimiento, where you can hike to the landmark cross commemorating King James, the founder of modern Mallorca. Hike to the hilltop of Puig de sa Morisca to discover an archaeological site dating back to the Bronze Age.
Travelling with little ones? Theme parks ensure plenty of fun-filled hours, from aqua thrills at Western Water Park to miniature golf and electronic arcade games at Katmandu Park. Bar Code 7 mixes things up with rides, trampolines, ice hockey and a carousel for the kids, along with evening live entertainment.
If you’re up for an outdoor challenge, try the adventure course at Jungle Parc. You’ll swing from tree to tree on more than 130 platforms, using bridges, ropes, vines and zip lines. The nine-hectare pine forest also has a simplified course for young children.
