Located in the exclusive Mayfair district of London, Grosvenor Square is the second-largest garden square in the city. Once home to the lords and ladies of London, the green is surrounded by Georgian townhouses that have since been transformed into galleries, boutiques, and embassies, including the Embassy of Italy.
Stroll around the tree-lined square and admire the manicured gardens and historic monuments, including the Roosevelt Memorial and 9/11 Memorial. Check out the former American Embassy on the western side of Grosvenor Square, which was granted Grade II English Heritage status in 2009 for its unique architecture.
Looking for a dose of culture? Get a snap outside Oscar Wilde’s former residence or see a dynamic curation of modern photography at Hamilton’s Gallery, located at the western end of the square. Indulge in contemporary British cuisine at 34 Mayfair, an art deco-inspired brassiere with views over the square.
Getting there
Grosvenor Square is five minutes’ walk from Bond Street and Marble Arch underground stations and 30 minutes drive from London City Airport. There are two bike-share stations nearby and buses stop along Oxford Street and Park Lane.
