The Solent Sky Museum is Southampton’s aviation museum that depicts the history of local aircraft over the years. Back in the 1900s the city and surrounding area were used for experimental aircraft tests, and it was here that the legendary Spitfires took to the skies. Explore the museum's vast collection of airframes and climb aboard the fighter jet cockpits.
For evening entertainment, head to the Mayflower Theatre. This playhouse first opened its doors in 1928 and today hosts musicals, ballets and opera performances alongside smash West End shows.

Getting around Southampton
Southampton International Airport is a short drive away, while Heathrow Airport sits just under two hour’s drive north of the city. The city centre is walkable, but local buses and taxis are also readily available.
