Perisher Ski Resort is the largest ski resort in the Southern Hemisphere, spanning across seven peaks in the beautiful Kosciuszko National Park of New South Wales. With spectacular views of the Snowy Mountains and over 100 kilometers of skiable terrain, Perisher delivers an unforgettable winter experience for avid skiers and snowboarders.
Try cross-country skiing on the pristine trails or snowshoe amongst twisted snow gums. For family fun, spend a day at Tube Town or toboggan down Pipers Ridge. There’s plenty to do once the sun goes down, from apres-ski drinks at the Blue Cow to neon night skiing with fireworks displays.
When the snow melts, you’ll discover a walker’s paradise. Enjoy a moderate day hike along Porcupine Track through alpine meadows filled with wildflowers and granite boulders. You can also work up a sweat conquering Mount Kosciuszko, Australia’s highest point, on the Summit Trail or Main Ridge Walk.
Getting there
Driving to Perisher Ski Resort from both Melbourne and Sydney takes about five to six hours. Alternatively, fly into Canberra Airport and drive 2.5 hours to Perisher or land at Cooma Snowy Mountains Airport, a short shuttle bus away.
