Things to do in Eatons Hill
Just 30 kilometres to the west of Eatons Hill is Mount Glorious, a charming village in Maiala National Park. It's surrounded by lush rainforest and is brimming with tropical birds and colourful parrots. A network of self-guided walking tracks wind through the park, with trails like Wivenhoe Lookout offering sweeping views of the D'Aguilar Range.
Looking for some fun in the sun? With shallow water and a grassy foreshore, Sandgate Beach is a favourite with local families. Nearby Shorncliffe features golden sand, a wooden pier, an adventure playground and plenty of picnic facilities.
If native wildlife is on your wish list, head to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. You can cuddle friendly koalas, hand feed kangaroos, and watch sheep dogs in action. The park also offers daily Bird of Prey shows and interactive ranger talks.
The South Pine River flows through Eatons Hill and is lined with grassy parks and recreational areas. Most kayakers paddle up to Bunya Crossing where you'll find grassy picnic areas and a shady swimming hole. You can also cast a line out for bream, trevally, cod, jew, catfish and jacks.

Eatons Hill is well-serviced by a network of buses that run throughout Brisbane. From the Brisbane CBD, a bus ride takes around 90 minutes. A rental car is the easiest way to explore the greater Moreton Bay Region.
