Located to the west of Newcastle in the suburb of Maitland, Stockland Green Hills is a large shopping centre with over 90 stores. It's mainly visited by people staying in the Lower Hunter and Upper Hunter areas of Newcastle, along with those from Maitland. It can be found four kilometres away from Maitland CBD.
Within the shopping centre are two supermarket and stores from many of Australia's major brands. These include the department store Big W, three electrical shops, three banks, and a whole array of fashion brands, from Payless Shoes to Just Jeans and Millers. An extensive food court has a variety of cafes and fast food options, along with a sushi bar. Stockland Green Hills has its own gift voucher system which can be used in the majority of the shops.
A variety of bus lines connect Stockland Green Hills with nearby Maitland, where it's possible to connect onto services bound for Newcastle. When driving, the shopping centre is unmissable along the New England Highway and is close to the Hunter Expressway.
Stockland Green Hills first opened for business in 1990 and was one of the largest malls in New South Wales at the time. Although it has been superseded it continues to offer some of the largest shopping space in Australia.
