Seongnam is South Korea’s first planned city, situated in the far south-east of the Seoul National Capital Area. It features beautiful public parks and artistic institutions, as well as a famous dining district.
Things to do in Seongnam
Spend an afternoon exploring the green oasis of Yuldong Park, situated in the Bundang area of Seongnam. Stroll or cycle along the lakefront trail, let the kids run loose in the playground or get your thrills at the 45-metre-tall bungee jumping site and artificial rock climbing wall.
Discover the talent of local artists at Seongnam Arts Center, where cutting-edge performance spaces and art galleries showcase permanent and touring exhibitions. It also features the World Musical Instrument Exhibition where you can see and hear instruments from Asia, Africa, South America and Europe.
Literary enthusiasts shouldn’t miss the Book Theme Park, created to inspire readers and ignite their imaginations. Didn’t bring a book? You can grab one off the shelves in the on-site cafe or relax with your own in a meditation space set around a book-shaped pond.
Meander down Jeongja-dong Cafe Street past cosy cafes and alfresco terraces. It has a European-inspired atmosphere and is popular with young Koreans, reminiscent of the trendy Cheongdam-dong area in Seoul.
Getting around Seongnam
