International restaurants and shopping malls populate the city, together with a cultural hub showcasing Korea’s traditional arts and crafts.
Things to do in Pyeongtaek
Learn about South Korea’s artistic heritage at the Utdari Cultural Town, an abandoned school that now serves as a multipurpose cultural hub. Participate in a leather-making or pottery workshop, create a Sotdae prayer pole and visit the domestic animals at the on-site farm.

Colourful murals adorn the buildings that flank the market, creating a vibrant atmosphere for visitors to shop and sample local delicacies.
Want to mingle with the locals? Spend an afternoon relaxing in Jinwicheon Citizens’ Recreation Area, which sprawls along a natural stream frequented by minnows. Take a dip in the swimming pool or test your skills on one of the rail bikes, with volleyball and basketball courts also available.
