Things to do in Sans Souci
Bask on the sugar-white sand of Dolls Point Beach. It’s set at the mouth of the Georges River and features a breezy waterfront promenade. Enjoy a picnic on the grass and fire up one of the public barbecues. When the wind is up, you’ll see kite surfers cruising around Botany Bay. Head down the peninsula to swim in the Vanston Baths netted pool.
Enjoy spectacular views over Botany Bay from Cook Park on the northern end of the peninsula. The park stretches along the waterfront and features a sandy beach and grassy foreshore. Walk up to Ramsgate Road to find cafes, lunch bars and fish and chip shops.
Get a caffeine fix on the Rocky Point Road café strip. The thoroughfare has a village-style atmosphere and is lined with shops, cafes and restaurants. You’ll find everything from gourmet cupcakes to Vietnamese rolls.
Getting around Sans Souci
Parts of Sans Souci are pedestrian-friendly and easy to get around on foot, while rental cars offer the freedom to explore Sans Souci at your own pace. Buses connect Sans Souci with train stations in Kogarah and Rockdale. The suburb is a 30-minute drive from the Sydney CBD and 40 minutes using public transport. Sydney Airport is a 20-minute drive away.
