Spend a day hopping between the cellar doors of the Orange wine-growing region, acclaimed for its cool-climate wines. Visit the award-winning Printhie Wines and stop in at Orange Mountain Wines where traditional methods are still used to craft their Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc.
Visit the small village of Yeoval where the legendary Australian poet Banjo Paterson grew up. The “More Than a Poet” exhibition details his life on the family property Buckinbah and how it inspired his tales, including the epic “Man from Snowy River”.
Enjoy a scenic drive along the Animals on Bikes sculpture trail that winds 120 kilometres from Molong to Cumnock, then on to Yeoval and the Dubbo Zoo. These unique sculptures have been created by local farmers and community groups to showcase their artistic flair.
Want to experience the landscapes beneath Molong? Visit the Borenore Karst Conservation Reserve to explore its ancient limestone caves. Venture into the spectacular Arch Cave whose interior caverns are adorned in stalactites, stalagmites and impressive flowstones.
Getting around Molong
Orange Regional Airport is around 45 minutes’ drive from Molong, with regular flights to Sydney. Canberra is over three hours’ drive to the south, while the streets of Molong are easy to explore on foot.
