About Jugiong

The small Australian village of Jugiong is nestled on the Murrumbidgee River and is the starting point of New South Wales’ Hilltops Region. It’s a quick stop-over during road trips along the Hume Highway, offering a small selection of sights and dining options. The Long Track Pantry is arguably its most popular cafe, offering homestyle breakfasts and lunches.

Duck into the Sir George Tavern, which was rebuilt in 1852 after the original building was washed away in a flood. Relax within the sandstone walls adorned with historic photographs, then visit the cosy lounges ideal for sipping beer and wine with large fireplaces crackling during winter.

Stroll around town to see the Monument to Sergeant Parry, who was killed by a gang of bushrangers during a heist in 1864. You can also admire the 19th-century St John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Christ Church of England. Visit the Jugiong Wine Cellar to purchase regional wines on your way out.

Getting there
