Set in a former sake distillery, Huashan 1914 Creative Park is one of Taipei’s most trendy entertainment venues with live music performances, galleries, and cultural events. Old warehouses are fitted out with boutiques and lifestyle stores, as well as some of the hippest restaurants, cafes, and bars in town.
Catch a live gig at the Huashan Theatre, an outdoor amphitheater with a grassy lawn, or see an alternative film at SPOT Huashan Cinema. Keen shoppers can head to Present’s pop-up store showcasing the talents of local Taiwanese artists, before skipping over to Bleu & Book to find a quirky novel or enjoy organic coffee.
Don’t miss the incredible upside down house, a regular three-story home that’s been flipped. Wander through the mind-boggling rooms and take some creative trick-eye photos with furniture and electronics that hang from the ceiling. Afterward, head to VVg Thinking, a European restaurant with exposed redbrick walls, vintage furniture, and plants.
