About Bombala

Experience life on a late-19th-century grazier homestead at Burnima, a Victorian Gothic-style building that has retained its period charm. Admire the formal sitting room, drawing room and servants quarters, then wander the landscaped gardens planted with trees from around the world.

Stop in at the former convent of the sisters of St. Joseph, which has been transformed into Lavender House. In addition to learning about lavender oil distillation and the history of Bombala, you can also pick up a whole range of locally-made lavender products.

The Bombala Historic Railway Park is home to a pre-cast concrete building and tin goods shed that were constructed when the railway first opened in 1921. Explore the small on-site museum and witness the heritage engines and farming equipment that have been lovingly restored by local volunteers.
