Blaubeuren is a charming town set in the foothills of the Swabian Alps. The historic town centre is filled with half-timbered buildings, many reimagined as atmospheric shops, cafes and taverns. The trail up to Blaufelsen lookout rewards hikers with sweeping views over the village and the surrounding countryside. Continue along the ridge to discover the ruins of an ancient castle.

Small but engaging, Urgeschichtliches Museum Blaubeuren showcases archaeological finds from across the region. Highlights include the Venus of Hohle Fels, one of the oldest prehistoric portraits ever discovered.
