Every afternoon, dozens of pelicans flock to The Entrance Memorial Park for daily feeding. For more than 20 years, volunteers have been tossing fish to the hungry birds. Today, The Entrance is known as “The Pelican Capital of Australia” and attracts bird lovers from across the globe.
Spend the day exploring Wyrrabalong National Park’s rugged seascapes and silvery red gum forests, where you can watch rainbow lorikeets. In the southern section of the park, Crackneck Lookout commands sweeping views over Bateau Bay. Rolling waves make the northern beaches popular with surfers.
Step back in time on The Entrance Heritage Walk, a two-hour interpretive trail along the waterfront and main drag. Kids and adults alike will love learning about the local legends and larrikins who shaped the town.
Getting around Toowoon Bay
Toowoon Bay is easy to get around on foot. You can stroll to The Entrance waterfront in 25 minutes or drive in just five. Gosford and Tuggerah are the closest train stations, roughly 25 minutes from Toowoon Bay. Local buses run throughout the Central Coast region.
