As one of the San Fernando Valley’s most stylish neighbourhoods, Studio City is adored by an eclectic mix of LA hipsters, A-list celebrities, swanky studio execs and young families alike. Beyond its urban allure, Studio City’s location between rolling hills and forested mountains means it’s brimming with green space and plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventures.
Stroll down Ventura Boulevard, and it’s easy to see why it’s such a popular residential hub. Organic frozen yoghurt stores, yoga studios and designer boutiques stand alongside a smorgasbord of sushi restaurants, cafes and taverns. For something a little off-centre, Tujunga Avenue serves up a colourful mix of homestyle diners, pizza-pie houses and ice cream parlours.
Impressively central, Studio City offers easy access to all of LA’s premier attractions. It’s a short 30-minute drive from LAX airport and is also close to oceanfront destinations like Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach.
Studio City draws its glamorous name from Mack Sennett’s iconic studio lot that was established in 1927. The legendary film producer is celebrated as the godfather of slapstick comedy, with his Wrestling Swordfish short filmmaking Academy Award history. Today it’s known as the CBS Studio Centre, though the legacy of the legendary film producer continues to live on.
