Home to one of the most iconic amusement parks in the United States, Buena Park is a vibrant city in Orange County. Its E-Zone district is packed with themed dinner shows and retail stores and is surrounded by attractive green spaces and a charming historical district.
Things to do in Buena Park
Don’t miss the historic amusement park of Knott’s Berry Farm, which sprawls across what was once a berry estate. It boasts thrilling roller coasters, water-themed attractions and dedicated children’s rides that celebrate its long association with the characters from “Peanuts”.
Soak up the views of the Palos Verdes Peninsula and the Santa Ana Mountains from Camel Hill, reached along a short walking trail in Ralph B. Clark Regional Park. Barbecues, picnic areas and playgrounds dot the park, which is also home to an interpretive centre that features a nine-million-year-old baleen whale skeleton.
If you’re interested in the history of Buena Park, visit the late 19th-century Whitaker-Jaynes House, fronted by the multi-faced Dreger Clock. This heritage house museum forms part of Buena Park’s historic district, together with the Stage Stop Hotel and the oldest surviving structure in the area, Bacon House.
Be transported into another world at the Pirate’s Dinner Adventure, which includes sword fights, aerial artistry and a four-course feast. It’s set on an 18th-century Spanish ship that’s been set adrift, with impressive stunt performances and special effects, as well as plenty of crowd participation.
