At Khancoban Pondage lake you can enjoy fishing, kayaking, water skiing and jet skiing. Alternatively, take in spectacular mountain scenery on walking tracks, such as Major Clews Hut. Make your way through montane forests, alpine ash and jagged ridgelines, then head to Round Mountain Hut for a jaunt through Jagungal Wilderness Area.
Looking for a scenic drive? Take the Khancoban to Kiandra past forest and dams in Mount Kosciuszko National Park, connecting Alpine Way with Snowy Mountains Highway. Keep an eye out for gold-mining remnants or go on an adventurous ATV ride on Lobs Hole Ravine 4WD trail. You’ll eventually reach Cabramurra, the highest town in Australia.

Getting around Khancoban
Khancoban lies about five hours from Melbourne and only two hours from Albury by car. You can pick up a rental vehicle in either city or hire taxis and charter coaches for getting around.
