Located near the banks of the Rhine River in Germany’s south-west, Europa Park is the country’s largest theme park. It’s divided into themed areas inspired by different European countries and boasts 13 roller coasters that range from the kid-friendly Ba-a-a Express to the adrenaline pumping Silver Star.
Enjoy a leisurely ride on the African Queen through Adventureland before braving the mine train roller coaster of the Alpenexpress Enzian in the Austria zone. The England area is home to the Arena of Football and the Soccer Bumper Cars while Euro-Tower boasts sweeping views across the park.
Young kids can let loose at the Portuguese-inspired Casa da Aventura indoor playground before watching glass being blown and pottery created at the Russian Handicraft exhibit. The EP Express monorail has stations in the Germany, Greece and Spain zones while a suspended pedal-monorail based on Leonardo da Vinci’s flying machine can be found in the Italy area.
Getting there
Europa Park is located in the town of Rust and can be accessed from the Rust-Europa Park bus interchange. Strasbourg Airport is 45 minutes’ drive from the park while Stuttgart Airport is two hours away.
