Lindås is a town and municipality in the Nordhordland district of Hordaland, Norway. Located 37 kilometres north of Bergen, it’s a picturesque waterside community, flanked by natural beauty. The best way to explore the area is by car. Lindås is easily reached from Bergen in 40 minutes. The best route is via the Hagelsund Bridge which links Bergen with Knarvik. Bus services operate throughout Nordhordland which can transport visitors from town to town. Ferries are also available on some routes.
Lindås was once home to Vikings, evidence of ancient settlements has been found in several areas. The municipality was named after the old Lindås farm which was built there. The town is popular with commuters and oil refinery and seaport workers who work in the far north of the municipality.
