Perched off the coast of Abu Dhabi, Al Reem Island is a sleek master-planned community where you can shop, dine and play. Luxury apartments line the waterfront and command stunning views of Marina Bay and the Arabian Gulf. A good selection of shopping malls, art galleries, public parks and promenades make Al Reem Island one of the most sought-after neighbourhoods in the United Arab Emirates.
Things to do in Al Reem Island
With space for more than 2,500 worshippers, Al Aziz Mosque is one of the largest in Abu Dhabi. The architect-designed mosque features a honey-coloured stone façade designed to blend seamlessly with the desert landscape. After dark, the mosque is illuminated with the 99 different names used to describe God in the Quran.
In addition to international boutiques, Shams BOUTIK Mall features an excellent selection of local brands and designers. Head to the food court to enjoy everything from burgers and pizza to smoothies and frozen yogurt. The upscale restaurants located within the luxury hotels are ideal for special occasions.
Sandy beaches, grassy lawns and impressive open-air art installations make Reem Central Park one of the best outdoor spaces in the city. Stroll along the waterfront promenade and enjoy a meal at one of the al fresco restaurants.
A short drive across the bridge gets you to the Abu Dhabi city centre, which features top attractions such as the magnificent Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. The mosque is topped by gleaming white-marble domes and features a cavernous main prayer hall decorated with an enormous Persian carpet sparkling crystal chandeliers.
