Things to do in Val-d'Isere
Together with the nearby resort of Tignes, Val-d'Isere forms the enormous Espace Killy skiing area, which treats skiers and boarders to more than 300 kilometres of groomed slopes, plus plenty of off-piste action. If you're feeling adventurous, sign up for a ski tour in Parc National de la Vanoise.
When you're not hitting the slopes, the historic village is a great place to spend the day. Most of the action is clustered around Eglise St-Roch, a 16th-century church. In addition to world-class slopes, Val-d'Isere serves up a legendary apres-ski scene, from stylish cocktail bars to live music venues.
Want to pencil in a rest day? There are plenty of off-slope activities to enjoy in Val-d'Isere, including scenic helicopter flights, husky sled rides, sledging and snow tubing. Things don't slow down in the summer, when Val-d'Isere offers incredible Alpine hiking and mountain biking.

Getting around Val-d'Isere
Val-d'Isere is best explored on foot, with most ski lifts within walking distance of the main village. Local buses also run between Val-d'Isere and Tignes. Chambery International is the closest major airport, located a 2.5-hour drive from Val-d'Isere.
