Things to do in Megève
Snow sports are the main draw in Megeve, with the resort positioning you in the heart of the sprawling Domaine Évasion Mont Blanc ski area. Explore over 400 kilometres of groomed trails and more than 1,500 metres of vertical drop. You’ll also find some spectacular cross-country trails, as well as snow parks for practising your moves.
In the pedestrianised village, you’ll be charmed by cobblestone streets lined with medieval townhouses and rustic chalets. Some house cosy cafes and wine bars, while others have been reimagined as upscale boutiques and ski outfitters. Like most European resorts, Megeve boasts a fantastic après ski scene.
In summer, Megeve morphs into an outdoor playground. Hike to flower-filled Alpine meadows, wander through lush forests and hike up to Mont d’Arbois for sweeping views over the mountains and towering Mont Blanc. Tee off on spectacular golf courses and take to the skies with activities like paragliding, hot air ballooning and scenic flights over the Alps.
Getting around Megève
Megeve is located in the French Alps, a one-hour drive from Geneva and two hours from Grenoble and Chambery. The pedestrianised village centre is easy to get around on foot while horse-drawn carriages are a novel way to get around the village. The famous Mont Blanc Express train runs between St-Gervais-les-Bains and Chamonix. Trains also depart from Gare de Sallanches Combloux Megève, a 20-minute drive from the village.
