As LA’s undisputed entertainment capital, Universal Studios Hollywood is a mecca for Californian holidaymakers in search of thrills, spills and fun. Home to world-class rides and attractions, a ticket to Universal Studios Hollywood unlocks access to the star-studded movie inspired theme park, as well as a behind the scenes Studio Tour and the legendary Universal CityWalk entertainment district.
Once inside its gates, Universal Studios Hollywood treats guests to a kaleidoscope of movie-inspired magic. From supercharged 3D rollercoasters and thrilling interactive rides to the brand new Wizarding World of Harry Potter experience, the theme park offers something for every movie buff.
Thanks to excellent public transportation links, Universal Studios Hollywood is well-connected by the LA Metro Red line subway system, as well as several Metro bus routes. The park is easy to reach by car, with plenty of parking available on-site. Roads are signposted well, and drivers simply need to follow the signs to Universal Studios Hollywood once in the Universal City district.
While today Universal Studios Hollywood is overflowing with rollercoasters and 3D motion simulators, it wasn’t always such a ride-centric attraction. When Music Corporation of America acquired Universal Pictures in 1962, its in-house accountants suggested offering a tour of the working studio to boost profits. Originally, highlights included behind the scenes dressing room tours and a sneak peek at live film sets. Staged events, shows, attractions and rides didn’t arrive until several years later.
