Things to do in Turunç
A long stretch of caramel-coloured sand wraps around the bay. Sun loungers and thatch-roof umbrellas dot the sand and add to the postcard-perfect setting. Bask in the Mediterranean sunshine and cool off in the translucent water. It’s so clear you’ll see tiny fish darting around in the shallows. A breezy promenade skirts the beach and is lined with casual cafes and restaurants.
Charter a boat and spend the day exploring the Turkish Riviera. It’s a great way to discover hidden beaches, bays and coves dotted along the coastline. Sunbathe on the upper deck and dive into the crystalline water.
Lace up your hiking shoes and explore the surrounding hills and mountains on foot. Trails wind through the countryside and showcase the beautiful Mediterranean landscapes. The trail to the ancient city of Amos is one of the most popular hikes. It was founded in the 7th century BC and features crumbling city walls and the remains of an amphitheatre. Jeep safaris are another fun way to explore the countryside. Pack your bathers, as many tours include a stop at a cascading waterfall.
Spend the day in Marmaris, one of the most famous resort towns in Turkey. Stroll around the picturesque harbour, explore the Old Town and tour the hilltop castle built in the 16th century. Stay after sunset to experience the town’s legendary nightlife.
