Jewel-coloured water and gleaming white sand make Oludeniz one of the most stunning beaches in Turkey. The resort is surrounded by forested mountains and is a fantastic place to swim, sunbathe and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Turquoise Coast. Oludeniz is one of the country’s most popular paragliding destinations and the sky is usually dotted with colourful sails.
Things to do in Ölüdeniz
Oludeniz Tabiat Park protects one of Turkey’s most beautiful natural wonders, the Blue Lagoon. It’s semi-enclosed by a sandpit and features dazzling cobalt-blue water. An entrance ticket gets you access to the postcard-perfect beach, where you can bask on the sugar-white sand, splash in the crystalline water and gaze up at the surrounding mountains.
A short stroll from the beach is a lively strip where you’ll find cafes and restaurants. Sit down for freshly tossed salads, fluffy “pide” bread and a refreshing glass of Turkish tea.
Babadağ Mountain towers over the beach and is a popular launching site for paragliders. Watch as they launch themselves off the cliffside and glide down to the beach. Tandem paragliding flights offer eye-popping views over Oludeniz.
The Lycian Way meanders through Oludeniz and boasts incredible views over the coastline. Follow the trail to Butterfly Valley, a pristine nature reserve with a secluded sandy beach surrounded by towering cliffs. The water is so clear you’ll see colourful fish swimming past. Boats also depart from Oludeniz and sail to Butterfly Valley. They’re a great option if you don’t want to walk.
