Things to do in Hisarönü
With cobalt blue water and sugar-white sand, Blue Lagoon has all the hallmarks of a Mediterranean paradise. It's backed by verdant mountains and has crystal-clear waters perfect for snorkelling or scuba diving.
Scenic boat trips are an ideal way to soak up the natural beauty of the Aegean Coast. You can also rent kayaks and paddle up the wildlife-rich Dalyan River or horseback ride through the mountains. If you've ever wanted to launch yourself off the side of a mountain, Hisaronu is the place to do it. The nearby town of Oludeniz is one of the world's most scenic tandem paragliding destinations.
The iconic Lycian Way stretches for over 500 kilometres along Turkey's Mediterranean Coast. Hisaronu is a great base for exploring sections of the scenic trail. You can also hike down to Butterfly Valley, a pristine nature reserve set on a secluded bay.
While Hisaronu has retained much of its fishing village charm, it also serves up a fantastic food and wine scene in its cafes, bars and restaurants. The Pine Hill Restaurant is a local favourite, serving farm-to-table cuisine in an atmospheric stone building.
Getting around Hisarönü
Hisaronu is easy to get around on foot, while local "dolmus" minibuses run down to Oludeniz in around 10 minutes and access nearby towns and beaches. The drive to Fethiye takes around 30 minutes. Flights touch down at Dalaman Airport, around 60 kilometres from Hisaronu.
