Located on the south-west coast of Turkey, Sarıgerme is a relaxed beachside town with a stunning stretch of sand. It’s clustered with traditional shops and authentic local eateries, making it a popular destination for tourists wanting to experience the “real” Turkey.
Things to do in Sarigerme
Stretching along the Mediterranean Sea are the wide sands of Sarıgerme Beach where you can spend long days sunbathing in between refreshing swims. For a bird’s eye view, take to the skies on a paragliding adventure with the Sarıgerme Water Sports Centre or head underwater with the team at Sarıgerme Diving. They offer a range of courses to suit all abilities, from PADI Discover Scuba Diving to Divemaster training.
Located just offshore from Sarıgerme Beach is Baba Island, which is topped by the ruins of a centuries-old lighthouse tower. It can be reached via boat from Sarıgerme's jetty or you can rent a kayak to enjoy a leisurely paddle around the island’s rocky shores. Walking trails wind between the olive trees that cover the island and there are several idyllic bays where you can swim.
On the outskirts of Sarıgerme is the Fevziye Sulphur Springs Pool, which is renowned for its milky blue thermal waters. After bathing in the lagoon, you can grab a coffee or lunch at the complex’s family-run restaurant. The Fevziye Sulphur Springs Pool lies just a stone’s throw from the Dalaman Stream, near where it empties into the Mediterranean Sea.
