Things to do in Mt. Barker
Go walking or cycling along the Mount Barker Linear Trail, which meanders around the peaceful Laratinga Wetlands. Spot rosellas and sacred ibis from the birdwatching “hides”, then continue along the trail to Keith Stephenson Park for a picnic lunch.

Jump aboard the Steam Ranger Heritage Railway to explore some of South Australia’s oldest train tracks on vintage steam and diesel locomotives. Journey from Mount Barker through the southern Mt Lofty Ranges to reach the historic Strathalbyn, then travel to the seaside towns of the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Mount Barker is 45 minutes’ drive from Adelaide International Airport and connected by regular buses to Adelaide. You can easily explore Mount Barker on foot or by bicycle along the town’s many designated pathways.
