Things to do in Corlette
Corlette puts you within striking distance of 26 gorgeous beaches. Corlette Beach is a local favourite, with crystalline water and lush eucalypt groves. Adventure seekers will love quad biking in the towering Stockton dunes and parasailing over sparkling Nelson Bay.
Ports Stephens is home to around 150 bottlenose dolphins. Scenic cruises departing from nearby Nelson Bay are a great way to enjoy the coastline and spot the playful marine mammals. In winter, you can also spot humpbacks breaching just offshore.
The Hunter Region is prime winemaking territory, so why not spend the day sipping your way through local vineyards? Don't miss Port Stephens Winery, which is famous for its fruity Chardonnay. The winery shares its location with Murray's Craft Brewing Co, where you can sample local favourites like Whale Ale and Wild Thing.
For the best views in town, head up to the Gan Gan Lookout. It's perched 160 metres above sea level and commands panoramic views over Port Stephens. It's especially beautiful at sunset when the ocean and the sky glow in shades of red, yellow and gold.
Getting around Corlette
Corlette is easy to get around on foot, with most of the action centred along Sandy Point Road. The stroll from Corlette Beach to Nelson Bay takes around 30 minutes. Rental cars let you explore the Hunter Region at your own pace.
