Experience your own African adventure at Werribee Open Range Zoo, just 30 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD. You’ll find an array of wildlife all the way from Africa, as well as iconic animals from the grasslands of Asia, North America, and Australia.
Come face-to-face with three silverback gorillas and encounter a pride of lions on the Pula Reserve Walking Trail or step into a wild African wetland at the Kubu River Hippos enclosure. To learn about the animals from the people who know them best, schedule in a Keeper Talk or go behind the scenes on a Wild Encounter.
No trip to Werribee Open Range Zoo is complete without an off-road safari. Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the open savannah as you traverse the grassy plains coming within arm’s reach of grazing zebras, giraffes, rhinoceroses, and antelopes. For an even more unique experience, you can camp out under the starry sky on an overnight Slumber Safari.
