Spend a day relaxing at the award-winning Peninsula Hot Springs, which boasts a variety of thermal pools and a day spa where you can indulge in therapeutic treatments. In addition to a Turkish hammam, a cave pool and two saunas, there is a hilltop pool offering 360-degree views across Fingal. In the Spa Dreaming Centre, you can take time out in the hanging tree ponds or treat yourself to a Zen Chi massage.
Travelling with kids? Don’t miss a visit to the Boneo Discovery Park, which sprawls across 10 hectares of wetlands where indigenous plant species and native wildlife can be spotted. In addition to family-friendly activities and nature play workshops, there is an 18-hole mini-golf course to challenge all ages. During your visit, you can explore the mazes in the Games Garden, jump on the bungee trampolines or enjoy a ride on the vintage carousel.
Stretching along the coast of Fingal is Gunnamatta Ocean Beach, which forms part of Mornington Peninsula National Park and is renowned for its surf breaks and rock fishing. A coastal trail links north to Rye Ocean Beach, a dune-backed stretch of sand that is popular with nesting plovers.
Getting around Fingal
Fingal is a 30-minute drive from Mornington and just over an hour from Melbourne. Melbourne Airport is 1.5 hours away. Buses travel to Fingal from Melbourne while renting a car is the most convenient way of accessing the town’s attractions.
