Overlooking a glistening bay lapped by the Adriatic Sea, Vlašići is a seaside village on the Croatian island of Pag. It’s surrounded by sun-drenched stretches of sand and on the doorstep of a marsh renowned for its birdwatching.
Spend your days relaxing on the pebbly shores of Plaža Vlašići, which is sheltered within the bay of Uvala Vlašić. After swimming and sunbathing, you can feast on locally sourced seafood accompanied by Croatian wines at Restaurant Dupin. A hiking trail leads across the headland to the beaches of Pumpurela and Smokvica.
A short drive inland from Vlašići is the Veto Blato Ornithological Reserve, which provides a habitat for more than 160 species of marsh birds. You can spot migratory and resident species from the elevated bird hide or learn about the native wildlife via the information board. Grey herons, glossy ibis and calandra larks are regularly spotted here.
