Lining the south-east coast of Lanzarote, Teguise packs a dynamic dose of holiday entertainment that’s attracted the Spanish royal family. Teguise features windsurfing, snorkelling, sandy beaches and family-friendly nightlife, along with nearby museums and sumptuous local dining.
Things to do in Teguise
Five sandy beaches make up the Teguise coastline, framed by a lively promenade full of boutiques, lolly shops, cafes and bars. Join the windsurfers at Playa Playa de las Cucharas or tuck yourself in the sheltered Playa Jablillo for sunbathing and swimming.
Travelling with little ones? Head over to Costa Teguise Aquapark for twisting slides, curvy raft-filled rivers and a large swimming lake. The whole family can also tee off on lush green golf courses perched beside an ancient volcano.
Head to Pueblo Marinero square for international cuisine and traditional Canarian food, including sancocho soup and fish dipped in spicy mojo sauces. At Playa Bastian beach, try the sea bass and bream at Villa Toledo, then stay for live music in their downstairs pub. Nightlife also hovers around Avenida de Jabillo and Plaza Pueblo Marinero, which is buzzing with karaoke and trivia nights.
With the capital city of Arrecife just a 15-minute drive from Teguise, you can take an afternoon trip to visit museums and see the charming fishing cottages at El Charco lagoon. It’s also a good place to pick up local threads at Calle Real.
