Surrounded by hidden bays and sun-drenched beaches, Sidari is a picturesque village on the north-west coast of Corfu. This once small fishing settlement has flourished into a bustling resort, packed with traditional restaurants and lively bars that ignite after dark.
Things to do in Sidari
Spend a day relaxing on Sidari Beach, where you’ll find sun loungers and umbrellas available for rent, as well as views towards the rugged hills of Albania. Take a dip in the shallow waters, grab a bite to eat at one of the traditional tavernas or settle in with a sundowner at the beachfront bars.
Sidari is renowned for its water sports, with everything from water skiing to banana boat rides and scuba diving on offer. Want to get a bird’s-eye view of the Corfu coastline? Take to the skies on a paragliding or parasailing adventure with one of the local operators.
Nestled in the cliffs to the west of Sidari is the spectacular Canal d’Amour (“Channel of Love”) where crashing waves constantly erode the multicoloured sandstone cliffs. Soak up the elevated views along one of the walking trails or go cliff jumping into the turquoise waters. Boats and pedalos are available for rent when you want to explore the tiny shingle coves.
Make a day trip to the traditional village of Peroulades, stopping to admire the breathtaking landscapes of Cape Drastis along the way. Surrounded by olive trees, Peroulades retains a laid-back charm and is the setting for aptly-named Sunset Beach, which boasts one of the best vistas on Corfu.
Getting around Sidari
Sidari is around one hour’s drive from Corfu and Ioannis Kapodistria Airport. Buses connect to destinations across the island, but hiring a car is the best option for flexibility.
