About Sane

Surrounded by pine forests on the Kassandra Peninsula, Sani is a bustling seaside town renowned for its summer arts festival. It centres around a modern marina lined with stylish bars and boutiques and is watched over by a centuries-old tower associated with the Byzantine Stavronikita Monastery.

Things to do in Sane

Overlooking Sani is the Stavronikita Tower, a 16th-century watchtower built to protect the Stavronikita Monastery. Rising eight metres in height, it offers sweeping views across the Thermaic Gulf. The tower is a short stroll from the town’s marina and Sani Beach, where you’ll find warm, shallow waters that are ideal for swimming. You can rent a beach umbrella and sun loungers to relax on the white sands or grab a bite to eat at one of the waterfront eateries.

A trail leads through the pine trees from Sani Beach to Bousoulas, a quiet stretch of sand backed by a stylish beach bar. Families can visit the nearby Sani Treetop Adventure to enjoy zip lines and challenging rope obstacles. Its six courses will appeal to all ages and offer views through the trees towards the sea.

A short drive north of Sani are the ruins of Gerani, an ancient settlement that flourished with the harvesting of sea salt. Stroll through the remains of its foundations and see its well-preserved graves that hug the site’s coastal cliffs. To the south sprawl the wetlands of Nea Fokea, which is a popular spot for birdwatching.
